Illuminating the Darkness Within
Are you stuck somewhere in your life? It’s a fine question, the answer to which determines whether we are ready for the follow up question. Are you ready to explore the inner nature of how and why you’ve become stuck? To examine within ourselves what blocks us off? There is no solution until we are ready to look within to see that to which we still cling that prevents us from moving forward.
The secret to our own transformation is in our ability to go to those places, to go into our own shadows, because it is there the light illumines.
That was the subject for this message at Agape Center for Spiritual Living in Frisco, Texas. It is a description of the path to our awakening. It proposes that the path to freedom begins by first examining how we are enslaved. To quote the great Buddhist teacher, Pema Chodron, “To lean into the sharp points.” And to paraphrase an elder in recovery, “To learn what those sharp points have to teach us.”
