Speaking True: Manna from Heaven
A long time ago, a minister told me that I might want to consider that my life - our lives - are manna from heaven, fresh and new every single day. I love that idea. It meant that it's not static; it meant that we get reset regularly.
Father Richard Rohr, the renegade Franciscan priest, said that not only are our lives not static, they're in a constant state of moving from order, to disorder, to reorder; that we’re designed to be reset over and over and over again.
Maybe that could actually be happening every single day of our lives, that I'm not the same person today that I was yesterday, nor are my circumstances today, necessarily a reflection of yesterday. But let's be honest, we like things to be static, don't we?
I remember seeing a politician who said he was in his 60s and still believed everything he believed at 17. Can you imagine 50 years passing and you haven't altered your perspective on anything?
What if we have an ego that always wants to make things static, but reality defies that every single day of our lives? What would you do if today really was manna from heaven and the question was, "What will you do with what bestows itself upon you today?"
That could change your whole life. That could change your whole life every single day. Disturbing? Maybe. Invigorating? Absolutely. Maybe that's what we were designed for.
Imagine, invigoration may be our first and most important nature. That's worth exploring today.
Change Your Life.
Why not?
