Loving When Loving Is Hard

In a time when we are all confronted with conflicts of many kinds, and a divisiveness runs through our world, how do we find the way back to love? Especially when it is hard to love? How do we let go of the grievances or injuries to which we hold?

It was this tension in which I was asked to deliver a message at Unity Renaissance in Chesapeake, Virginia. Until a few moments before I spoke, I was not entirely certain what I would say. The words of a dear friend, words she attributes to the Holy Spirit carried me forward.

“You are called to love others. You are not called to like them.”
